Standby Disabled

BW Taylor

I recently reinstalled Windows XP Pro onto a Dell 2650
Inspiron portable and now the "Stand By" option in
the "Turn Off Computer" box is grayed-out and disabled.
Standby is also no longer an option in the "Power
Options" Control Panel for when I close the lid of the
portable.

Can anybody tell me how to enable Standby?

Thanks for the help.

Visit the Dell support website and search for the Windows XP
compatible video adapter drivers for your specific Dell computer.
Once installed, the Standby feature will appear. Also, you should
install any other Windows XP drivers Dell offers for your notebook.

Afterward, use ClearType to fine-tune your LCD screen:

(click on 'ClearType Tuner Updated')
