Standard formatting for text box and autoshapes

PHONEMAN

My objective is to create a standard format for textbox and autoshapes for
all presentations.

Currently, I created the desired format , used "set autoshape defaults" and
saved the file as "blank.pot". In general it achieved the desired effects
for autoshapes (squares , octogons etc) except:
1. Text is centered, I require left aligned
2. Lines are preceeded by bullets, I require none
3. Lines are spaced at 2; I require single spacing

It had no effect on "textboxes"

Can you recommend an approach to standardize the format for these objects in
MS Ofc PPT 2003-SP2

In 2003, you must distinguish between textboxes and autoshapes defaults --
PPT doesn't do this well.

Make a textbox formatted the way you want.

Make an autoshape formatted the way you want. Be sure to format the text in
it -- left align it, set the line spacing, etc.

Right-click the textbox, save autoshape defaults.

Then right-click the shape and save autoshape defaults.

I think this will do what you need it to. (Can't check right now, sorry.)
When you add a textbox, it doesn't pick up the fill and line colors, so you
must use an autoshape rectangle if you need that. But your text formatting
inside the autoshape may override the formatting for the regular textbox.
Again, sorry I can't check that for you right this minute.
