"Stand by" Problem

Recently, when I choose the "Stand by" mode, the computer power downs
(monitor shuts off and the CPU powers down). This lasts for 20 seconds or so,
then it powers up again (monitor and CPU reactivates) without prompting. Any
thoughts as to why this might be happening. FYI. If I choose to "Turn off"
the computer it does stay off. I haven't changed anything (at least as far
as I can remember) or added any new software.

I don’t suppose that you’ve got an optical mouse do you?

I have this same issue and YES, I do have an optical mouse. Is that the cause?

I will research the mouse issue and see if I can locate any help ther.
