Stand by mode ?????

My system has just started to go into the stand by mode
for reasons of it's own.I cannot get it out of that mode
without switching off and re booting. I have tried the
screensaver timing modes to no avail.This happens every
few minutes after being inactive.Any ideas?? Thanks

The only thing I can think of is check your power options
under control panel to make sure they aren't set too low,
and set for desktop or laptop which ever the case may be.
