Is there a display adapter problem in the Device Manager?
Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> System -> Hardware Tab -> Device Manager button

So you've lost (or never had) Standby and/or Hibernate?

It tells you how to get it in the KB. Try asking someone who can read to read the page for you.

How Can I download this hotfix, I didn't find its link to
download..............

If you had read the KB article you would know. You get a hotfix only by
calling Microsoft. You will tell them your computer has symptoms
identical to KB[insert number] and you need the hotfix. They will say
OK and send you an email with a link to the hotfix download. The email
will have a password in it which you will need to unpack the hotfix.

The entire process including downloading and installing the hotfix will
take less than 10 minutes, tops.

I have the same problem... All of a sudden there are no user options in Power
Management. This started right after a MSFT update/upgrade. I've tried
updating all the drivers, rebooting about 100 times, searching all the blogs,
user groups, and calling "knowledgable" friends. email me at (e-mail address removed)
and I'll send you a screen shot of whatever you want to see if you can help
diagnose this. It happened to the laptop downstairs at the same time. Some
posts say to modify the registry but I havenot done that. Please respond
before I jam a hamer through the screen.

thanks, TaosHum.
