Hello,

I am using XP Pro and whenever it goes on Stand By or it Hibernatesthe only
way I can wake it back up is to press the on/off button on the machine. I
would like to be able to wake it up by eithermoving the mouse or pressing the
ESC key. I've tried but they simply won't work right now. Can anybody help?

Thanks In Advance

To wake it up from hibernation, you have to press the power button. Try
pressing spacebar to wake it up form standby.

Two things to check:
1. Most motherboards have jumpers that enable or disable standby power
to the keyboard and mouse. The BIOS setup has settings that allow
waking up the PC via keyboard, mouse, PCI card, etc.

Wrong. I have an ASUS K8V SE Deluxe Motherboard, and its BIOS has a setting
to turn the computer on by hitting any key on the keyboard. It will do this
from the "off" state, from Stand By and/or from Hibernation. I hibernate my
computer during the day when I will be away from it for a while, and I turn
it off at night. A simple touch of the space bar and my computer turns
itself on.
