Stand alone PC - no connection ever....

My Customer just purchased a new Dell desktop that will be used in a
stand-alone mode; it's job is to monitor a large generator in an
asphalt paving production plant.

How do I neuter this thing? Windows, and more objectionable, Mcaffe
insists on connecting to the Internet for registration, updates, etc.
Mcaffe seems to be embedded in the registry, along with some other
things no doubt. The startup group is empty.

This machine will NEVER see the Internet via dial-up, LAN or other
means..

Appreciate any help.

Install it on a LAN, updated everything, remove it from the LAN, find
something other than McCrappy to AV - they will all complain about not
updating, but you must activate XP and Office if needed.

So, connect to a lan, update everything, remove from LAN - don't forget
to ghost an image of the machine or have some means to make real-time
backups.

Thanks for the pointer Peter.

One of the specifics I need to remove is Mcafee, which is not on their
list. Otherwise, I'll give it a shot.
