stanby problems

when i attempt to put my machine in standby mode it
enters standby for about one second and the reboots. All
other shutdown modes work fine. help please. ty

It really reboots? In this case see "Windows XP Restarts Unexpectedly
or Restarts When You Shut Down the Computer"
