SR-1 Patch won't install into Excel 97

Help!
I have tried multiple times and methods to install office
97 SR-1 patches, but they won't install for excel 97.
Does anyone have advice for this or must I uninstall
everything and start over?

There are two separate SR-1 patches. One for Office and one for Excel to
correct the Auto-recalculation problem.

Before you can install the Excel SR-1 patch you must install the Office SR-1
patch.

Am I right in thinking that the Excel patch is also contained in the Office
SR-2? So all that is needed to get bang up to date is to install Office
SR-1 and SR-2 (in that order of course).

Yes to both. When I was upgrading my unpatched XL97 I got the Value-pak CD
from MS.

It contained the SR-1 and SR-2 Office patches plus a whack of extra add-ons.

You don't need the Excel Auto-recalc patch if you install the SR-2 Office
patch after SR-1 Office patch.
