Hi!
It seems that Excel 97/SR-1, is faster than Excel 2000/SP-3 - with the
latest patchs installed. Our doubt is: what we can do to make Excel 2000 as
fast as Excel 97, at least!
Monthly, we need to actualize a complex book sheet - with a lot of external
links - using 'Replace...' function on the entire sheet, from past month to
the actual one - [May.xls]$A$1 --> [Jun.xls]$A$1.
We stated that on Excel 97 over Windows 95 or Windows NT, this operation
lasts for 1 minute approx. But exactly the same action, lasts for more than
10 minutes on Excel 2000 over Windows 2000!
We have tried to configure Excel 2000 for the manual formula calculation,
but with no effect. We've also solved the lost links and cells without
reference we had, but the execution time is exactly the same.
Anyone has found a similar situation before?
Thank you very much in advance!
