After a clean wipe of my Hard Drive, and an update/installation to
WinXP by a computer tech service, I have the following error after
every boot:
"Your SQL Server installation is either corrupt or has been tampered
with (Could not open SQLEVN70.RLL). Please uninstall then re-run
setup to correct this problem."
Well, of course, I could hand over my computer for another week or two
and let them fix this ------- but if it is a simple fix, I sure would
prefer to do it myself and save the trouble of being without my
computer for a week or two.
This error message has me completely baffled. This is a home office,
stand-alone computer, hooked up to broadband cable service and running
just fine. I do not know about any SQL server installation. This
computer is not server. I don't know about any SQL server stuff being
installed here. I've never heard of an .rll file before. And I have
searched all of C:\ for this file and it is not anywhere.
In addition, I have searched Google groups for all sorts of associated
word strings regarding this error message and have found nothing
applicable to my situation.
And I am not aware of any database manager program being installed on
this computer either. Just the usual Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
What gives? Was something accidentally tweaked in the techies
installation of Windows XP?
