Spyware updates

Hi, i downloaded the beta spyware program and had been
working great.
Till i updated to the 5727 spyware pattern and ever since
then it tell me that it is updating from 5727 to xxxx
[today was 5735] but the next time it i run update manual
it says that it is updating from 5727 to the current
pattern?
so it appears that it is not updating the pattern to the
new one it still keeps the 5727
Any help will be appresiated

posts (even if only to give us the impression that you are
indeed serious about doing some beta testing), you would
have noticed that this particular issue had already been
looked after. Probably close to 12000 times.

Some persons have been experiencing issues upgrading from definitions 5727,
5729, 5731 and 5733 to 5735. Please remember to have the following patch
applied:
"Right click on MSAS icon within systray and choose shutdown.

Right click and "Save target as..."

http://download.spynet.com/ASDefinitions/gcThreatAuditScanData.gcd
http://download.spynet.com/ASDefinitions/gcThreatAuditThreatData.gcd

Copy/paste these files to Program files/Microsoft Antispyware
Restart MSAS and "check for updates"
Done until MS realize that this is a bug.............."

If you encounter issues trying upgrade automatically or manually from
definitions 5731 and 5733 to 5735, try updating manually more than once
(File > Check for Updates) or copy the back the .gcd files again from the
above links to the program files group for Microsoft AntiSpyware.

that be a problem? looking for any help that i can get.

This shouldn't be a problem. What you can do, is to clean the temp folders
(usually C:\Documents and Settings\username\local settings\temp and
c:\Documents and Settings\username\local settings\Temporary Internet
Files\Content.IE5 and delete all the files in those directories and
subdirectories). Then try to perform the update again.


If it does not help, then perform a manual update.

Please go to Help, about, in Microsoft Antispyware, and see what version
number is specified for the program. It should be 1.0.615. If it is not,
download Microsoft Antispyware from
http://www.microsoft.ciom/spyware/software and run the download to upgrade
the version in place--then do File, Check for update--do it twice. Then
check Help, about to see if the definitions have properly updated.
