How can I clean spyware that is in the restore
information? Even though I run a scan and clean the
spyware out, as soon as I turn on my computer the next
day or what not, the spyware reappears and the scan is
telling me it is in the restore folder. Thanks

Hi

Spyware or virus - if a virus:

You can turn SR off/on, but you will lose any existing checkpoints:

Right click My Computer, select Properties and then the System Restore tab.
Enable 'Turn off System Restore on all drives' and reboot your PC. After
that 1st reboot go back into SR and disable 'Turn off System Restore on all
drives' and reboot your PC again. After that 2nd reboot you should have one
new SR checkpoint. The virus will have been deleted.

You can't delete the file if its in the restore point.

"While this is a desirable feature, in some cases it should be
temporarily turned off. For example, if the computer is infected with a
virus, then it is possible that the virus could be backed up by System
Restore. By default, Windows prevents System Restore from being modified
by outside programs. As a result, there is the possibility that you
could restore a virus-infected file, or that the on-line scanners would
detect the virus in that location. "

It can do no harm there, unless you restore to the point concerned.
So wait for a new clean one to have been made (or go to Start - All
Programs - Accessories - System Tools - System Restore and create one
manually) then Start - All Programs - Accessories - System Tools - Disk
Cleanup and on the More Options use the button to delete all but the
more recent point - the virus or spyware will go along with the point
it is in
