I have run spybot on my comp and it has generated a list of programs on
my system. I am nervous about deleting them, lots of them are system
reg files. Can anyone tell me if i can just go right ahead and delete,
r should I know more about these files before pressing the button.
Many Thanks
Lel
Lel,
Spybot typically doesn't generate a lot of false positives. If it's set to Save
everything (which it should be), IMO you should go ahead and let it remove
everything it says is a threat (anything in red). Anything not in red, if
you're unsure, you can uncheck.
Make sure it's set to Save everything. Under Settings - Settings - Main
Settings, is "Create backups" x 3, and "Create system restore point" x 2 (total
of 5 selections) all selected? Then you're covered.
After you let Spybot Fix all problems in red, do HijackThis and expert advice.
HijackThis <

Create a separate folder for HijackThis, such as C:\HijackThis - copy the
downloaded file there.
Then, run HijackThis ("Scan"). Do NOT make any changes immediately. Save the
HJT Log.

Finally, have your HJT log interpreted by experts at one or more of the
following security forums (and please post a link to your forum posts, here):
