Beta Spyware not able to fix problem

A

Angelo

Spyware Beta versions finds:
1) Trojan.Downloader.BHD.Req
Also says:
Reg key {8E13DDE1-E013-47ec-9C4C-27C2F78BDD26} and
jkhff.dll are infected.

Then the program has Delete Selected and I press
continue, program goes ahead and cleans it out, re-boots
and when I run the program again it finds the same files
to be infected.

Reboot in safe mode and run a deep scan
Run antivirus (with current definitions) while you are in safe mode.

Microsoft AntiSpyware is not meant for detecting trojans.

Also, right click My Computer > Properties > System Restore > check "Turn
Off System Restore" then restart the machine in safe mode and run the scan
with your Antivirus program.

Restart in Safe mode instructions:
http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/boot_failsafe.mspx

Also run the following in safe mode:

Giant AntiSpyware, which is now know as Microsoft Windows
AntiSpyware (MSAS), did detect and remove Trojans.

I think that MSAS still does detect them, it might be
having trouble removing them. For the current release it
might be neccessary to boot into Safe Mode to deal with
them.

Just remembered something.

CoolWebSearch IS a Trojan! If you run CWShredder
(http://www.trendmicro.com/ftp/products/online-
tools/cwshredder.exe) and you will see that the title of
the dialog box states 'CWShredder - CoolWebSearch Trojan
Remover.'

Since MSAS does detect CoolWebSearch, it must detect
Trojans!
