Spyware Beta - Installer

I have successfully downloaded MS spyware on my laptop.

Try to do it on my desktop and the install window pops-up then disappears.

Any suggestions??

Try this :

Go to a command prompt and type

net start "windows installer

and hit enter

(don't forget the double quote)

Then try running the installation executable.

If the net start command fails, write back with whatever error message that
elicits.

I tried your suggestion and it says the requested service has already been
started.

I don't have a clear prescription. I'm inclined to think that your problem
relates to the Windows Installer--the install starts with a third-party
piece and then hands over to the Windows Installer.

One thought is to install the 3.1 version of the Windows Installer--even if
that version is already installed, on the theory that it will "fix" whatever
is causing this failure to communicate:
