Spycar results on my computer

To those familiar with the spycar.org, I ran their routines that test your
computer for spyware-like behavior. I have Defender version 1.1.1347.0 and it
did not block nor seem to notice any of the actions, though it should have
per the directions at spycar. I have Defender set to the default settings and
updated daily.

Should I be worried? Should I do something different with Defender?

(Definition from website: "Spycar is a suite of tools designed to mimic
spyware-like behavior, but in a benign form. Intelguardians created Spycar
so anyone could test the behavior-based defenses of an anti-spyware tool.")

Wolla,

Thank-you. I do run Spybot and Ad Aware regularly. I don't run the Spybot
teatimer, but do "immunize".

I know Defender is in Beta, but shouldn't it block some of these simulated
attacks?

Dave,

Isn't there a more fundamental flaw with the Spycar tests? That anyone would
click 'Open' on a dialog box that states:

Some files can harm your computer. If the file information below looks
suspicious, or you do not fully trust the source, do not open or save this
file.

Once something has been installed on your PC there is little that can be
done to stop it. Since the Spycar tests themselves aren't considered malware,
unlike the Eicar AntiVirus test file for example, if you choose to accept the
download it has essentially become a trusted application. This means the
premise of the entire test is flawed, since you must accept the 'bad'
download to perform it and can always pass by simply refusing the download in
the first place.

I understand the premise is behavioural testing, but really, what's the
point? If I'm foolish enoigh to accept an unsolicted file with such a
warning, I'm going to be infected, it's as simple as that.

I think here that a quote from Forrest Gump is appropriate; Stupid is ...

I have a dream. Someday, I will use my computer and not have to worry about
any of this stuff. Dream on.
