Spybots be gone

Andy

Is there a program that will will tell you what sites
are placing spybots on your computer as you are visiting
the site ?

I suppose I could run Spybot to clear em out,
then visit one site and re-run it and then
see if any were added. But there should be
a better way.

Maybe a program idea for someone who is looking for a
challenge. :)

Thanks.

this is often useless as its the popups and adds that is the source of
these things, not the main sites themselfs...

Set Spybot to "display dialog" or "ask for blocking confirmation". This will
let you know in real time when you are getting spyware, and should help you
figure out where it's coming from.

I have got it running now, but I think it may only work with
Internet Explorer.

I use Netscape which does a great job of stopping popups and
ads.

heh, then stop worrying about what sites install spyware as they use ie
bugs to bypass confirmation dialogs (or just use some variation on
social engineering, and that no browser or anti-spyware app can help with).

you should rather worry about what apps you download and wonder if they
install spyware for some reason...
