I have SpyBot installed on my system and every time I try to stream a
news item from a particular radio station that sends me emails of sound
clips it is blocked by SpyBot. The cookie involved is "Avenue A.Inc" and
even when I cancel the box informing me of the blocking the streaming is
stopped in its tracks and does not load further. Can I stop this
prevention of my streaming in Real Player by SpyBot without uninstalling
SpyBot, thank you. I have recently installed Broadband and simply cannot
stream any clips because of this. As Broadband is especially good for
streaming programmes this is a real disadvantage, please help.

then cookies.sbi exclude avenue a. Due you have the
browser helper?
If you must use real player disable tkbell.exe in msconfig
this is known spyware. The last thing you want to due is
to uninstall spybot.
Why don't you complain to the radio station about them
using this cookie?

So, change the way SpyBot handles this.
Thanks for the above but I could not find a way to block SpyBot blocking
the cookie in question. I could prevent it coming up in a scan but
that's not what I want.

Now that's what I wanted but as I have not carried out the above
instructions yet I cannot say if I will succeed.
Due you have the
browser helper? I presume yes.

this is known spyware. Will do.

I will but its the Irish Radio Station RTE and you simply cannot play
their news clips without RP. As far as I know BBC uses it as well but I
am subject to correction on that.
Finally, many thanks for the above directions and I will post my
progress if I may.

"Immunize"
Yes, but surely that simply does what I want to prevent namely SpyBot
bringing my streaming to a complete stop when it encounters the cookie
in question.

How about using Winamp instead? It uses a lot less of your processor
resources. Go to www.winamp.com

Yes, I did try winamp before and as far as I recollect it won't play RTE
Radio's (Ireland) sound and video clips though I am subject to
correction on this of course.

I have now succeeded in stopping the problem by carrying out your above
directions, many thanks for your excellent advice and I wish you and all
who tried to help me here a Very Happy New Year.

Hate to say it but my trouble has resumed, my celebration was premature.

How is RealPlayer spyware? I ran Spybot S&D on one computer that had
RealPlayer 5 and it didn't have a problem.
