Hi,

sorry if message appears twice. Google apparently delayed its postign for

~
I have been getting lots of lines in my dmesg dump looking like:
~
"APIC error on CPU0: 01(01)"
~
and then I occasionally see also errors looking like:
~
"spurious APIC interrupt on CPU#0, should never happen."
~
I got a Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 ST3160023A 160GB Hard Drive
~
running fdisk /dev/sda tells me

What do these errors actually mean? What is causing it? is it
hardwareo or software related or both?
~
Is it anyway to fix them
~
the version of knoppix I am using is 5.1.1 (the latest)
~
thanks

This may simply be a kernel bug. IMO the most stable kernel version
at the moment is 2.6.18.<latest>. Try with that.
