Is there a workaround for this?

Thier is a hotfix for .NET 2.0,kb913047

Remove that update under Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs, download
and install that update from this site:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...FamilyID=ba3ceb78-8e1b-4c38-adfd-e8bc95ae548d
