Spreadsheet will not appear

David

I'm running Excel 2002 and have the strangest thing
happening. I am attempting to open a spreadsheet that's
181K in size and the app will open but the contents of the
spreadsheet will not appear. It's just a gray area
underneath the toolbars. If a different person attempts to
open the same spreadsheet after I have opened it he will
receive the message that it's locked and I have it opened
and will allow him to open it in read only and will notify
him when I close it. I can open other spreadsheets with no
issues. What would be some of the causes to not allowing
the contents of the spreadsheet to be displayed. I already
thought of memory consumption and have tried to open the
spreadsheet with everything else closed.

The workbook is probably hidden.

When you open it and get the gray screen, select window
Unhide on the menu bar.

What about the contents being hidden or in the
option\view\window options tab click on all of the
options to make sure they weren't purposely hidden. I
make a lot of forms in excel and do unselect all in the
windows options area to make it look like the actual
document you will be printing less the normal look of
gridlines and row/column headings. I find that getting
rid of these one the sheet if protected and ready for
use, helps the user to only use the sheet what it is
there for.

if you want to send it to me in a file, I could fix it
for you if it is possible.
