Spreadsheet Updating Takes Too Long

I have a spreadsheet with between 15,000 to 26,000 rows
and between 15 - 30 columns with formulas. When one
change is made, it takes "forever" for the update process
to complete. Is there anyway to speed up this process?
What's causing the slow down?
 
Try with manual calculation.
go to Tools > options then click on the calculation tab.
select manual press ok

now everytime you make a change it wont update so after you make a bunch of
changes or when you need press f9 to calculate
