spoolsv.exe Error

Hi all,
I got a workstation running into "spoolsv.exe has
generated errors and will be closed by Windows."
The printer icons are gone in the printer folder. When I
add printer, I get " subsystem unavailable error".
I am trying KB q312052 and q260142 instructions which
involve registry edit. I tried to delete items on one key
but Windows refused to do it. Do I need Administrator
Rights to delete items in registry ?
I am going to log on as administrator to try but I better
gather more info first.
Thank you !

Philip

Here is some info for you:
- When the spooler crashes, all printer icons will be gone (only until the
service is started again)
- "Subsystem unavailable" is returned when the OS attempts to make use of
the spooler, but it is unavailable
- You need to be an Administrator (or be given permissions on the registry)
to edit the registry

And some info for us:
- Did this happen only once (if not, how many times)?
- What printer(s) do you have installed

I did reg edit to delete some keys from the KB article
and it works. Yes, I do need administrator rights to do
so. Thank you !
