spontaneous restart

Hi!

I have a problem with my PC. My PC spontaneously restart in the middle
of my work. It doesn't matter which program i am using. It just
restart like their is no more power. All fans go down and then starts
again just like i turn on the PC. It looks like the PC shutdown but
it restarts. I have no idea why does it happen. It happens maybe once
a week sometimes once a month. I have an UPS and thought maybe there
something wrong with it, so i remove UPS and know my PC restarts once
a day or more. I suspect there is some hardware failure maybe
processor, ram or power supply or is it possible that i had something
wrong in my bios. I don't know how to find what is wrong. My PC is
not overclocked.

I have an UPS (uninterruptable power supply) APC500VA
asus a7n8x-E deluxe motherboard
Amd athlonXP 2500+ Barton FSB 333Mhz
1GB corsair twinx PC3200C2 ram on dual ddr at 400Mhz
enermax power supply 365W
Geforce Ti4200 AGP 8x 128MB
Sound blaster Creative audigy
TV tuner
dvd recorder, cd recorder
one 120GB hard disk on ata100

In bios i have latency for ram: 2,5-3-3-6
the cooler for the cpu is zalman 7000Al-Cu and the temperature of the
CPU is around 50'C.

I would be grateful if anyone could give me some advice.

Thanks,
Branko

If it is much more problematic without the UPS than with it, then your
problem is probably one of the voltage from the wall socket browning
out. Do you notice lights dimming or other things going on when the
pc reboots? Do you have an air conditioner, microwave oven or other
appliance on the same circuit breaker as the pc? If so, try plugging
the pc in elsewhere. Especially in the summer, the voltage from the
wall socket can at times drop suddenly.
