In a hosted envioment, do we need two licensees for each user connecting
to a remote desktop on a windows 2003 server?

I case of two licenses I wood use both a SAL and a TS SAL for each user.

Somehow, I don't think this is a question about Microsoft Access database
software, the subject of this newsgroup. Try a newsgroup devoted to the
software in question, (perhaps Windows 2003 Server and/or Terminal Server).

When you do, you might want to clarify what you mean by "a hosted
environment" -- whether that just means you are running Terminal Server on
your local network, or if it is third-party hosting.

TS is the recommended way to use Access/Jet for remote users.
Access/Jet is suitable if (a) you already have an Access/Jet
application used for local users, and (b) you don't want to do
a complete re-development using a web interface.

Each user needs an Access/Office licence (that used to be
tied to the workstation they would use, but I think there are
some other licences available now), a TS SAL, and a
server SAL. Again, there are some different server licences
out there.

Also, you can get TS SALs that are sold with server SALs,
if what you are doing is adding more users. Of course, if they
are using server SALs in the office, they don't need a second
SAL when out in the field - unless you are adding more users.
