Spiders in my monitor

I have a tiny tiny spider between my CRT and the safety glass on
my monitor. Has anyone seen this condition before? It is there
any significant danger of spider webs causing fires? What would
be the easiest way to de-spider the monitor?

Fascinating. You either have to take the cover off your
monitor or you can blow it out with an air hose. There
is no danger whatsoever of the monitor catching fire due
to the web.

Its generally inadvisable to use aerosols on electronic components. The air
hose idea upthread is probably best for a DIY answer. Someone who has the
tools and knowledge to work on monitor internals could pop that open and
retrieve the spider safely.

That was a REAL good one! I have to remember it.

PS

Back in the dark ages, insects living in CRT and TV systems were somewhat
common....roaches loved the warmth and to eat at the wire coverings.

I'm NOT a troll but thanks for all the answers. I have had
virtual pets 'in' my monitor but this was the first 'live' pet
ever. I just hope that it was just wandering through and not
setting up housekeeping. If I see the little beggar again I will
blast it with compressed air and see if that helps.

Cheers...

Actually this is a case of the spider tweaking the Internet Explorer "Web"
settings. It wanted to have its own custom "web" browser....hehehe

BTW:

A brick would help but I guess ya want to keep the monitor usable huh.

You need to change the Local Security Policy to allow your user account to
debug your PC.
