Any vista speech recognition users out there? I am wondering whether there
is a "spell mode" feature built-in yet. For example, to spell "abcde", I
would like to simply be able to say "alpha-bravo-charlie-delta-echo". Anyone
out there having success with this?

Marc,

Using Vista for adding -unusual- words to the Dictionary, just plug in your
microphone, add words and definitions as you desire.

Yes, but doesn't the dictation engine automatically insert spaces between
"words"? I'm a developer, so a great deal of the words I use are not natural
language words but instead abbreviated combinations of words, such as
"myVarName". Building a new "dictionary" for all the different words I code
would not be particularly efficient. ;) That's why I'm interested in a
spell mode feature. There has to be some way to do this better, doesn't
there?

I've just started.

There is a spell mode yes. You can also record 'new' words
so that it will understand you in future.

Thanks, Jan.

What's the command to enter/exit spell mode?

IIRC it's 'spell' and 'cancel' usually works to get you out
of most things.

Just say 'What can I say' for a list of commands.

In case you're still out there and wondering, just say "Spell it" at your
document window and there will be another window popup into which you spell.
