Spell/Grammar check repeats

As I recall, spell/grammar check in Word 2001 recognized items that had
been marked Ignore (once or all), so one didn't have to keep dealing
with the same suggestions. Is there a way in Word 2007 to get that? I
haven't found it so far. Thanks.

If you have the option to check spelling and grammar as you type turned on,
misspellings are marked with a wavy red line underscore. Right mouse click
anywhere within the word and a dialogue opens. Make the appropriate
selection.

If you initiate a spell check in the usual way, a dialogue will open and
display the first misspelling in context. Make the appropriate choice.

If that is not what is happening, try a repair install of Office. If that is
not successful, try a custom install and make sure you have the appropriate
proofing options checked to be installed.

If you want/need more detail, let us know.

Hmmm... Your reply has nothing to do with what I wrote, or intended to,
so let me try again. Let's say during *manual* spell/grammar check it
stops and prompts you that the sentence it's highlighted ends with a
preposition. You tell it to "Ignore Rule." As I recall, and maybe my
memory is incorrect, but in Word 2001 the spell/grammar checker would
skip that on the subsequent passes. At least in the same session, if
not between sessions. With 2007 it repeats the sentence every time,
different session or same. Has that been changed, or is there a setting
somewhere to adjust this?

Grammar/Spell Check options are found at Office Button Word Options
Proofing Writing Style Settings.

The dialogue that opens upon finding an error in grammar should provide
options to Resume Ignore rule, Next Sentince. also there is a check box to
enable or disable Grammar checking and a clickable link to the settings
mentioned in the first pph above.

Those options contain a facility to reset all options to default. That might
be a place to start.

Should or does? Have you actually looked? I asked because I couldn't
find any such choices there. I still can't.
