spell checker in spanish

I am a student who has lots of homework assignments, papers, etc. that
require me to have them typed in spanish. when i select the spanish spell
checker the language always seems to revert back to english within two
checked words. How do I set the language of my document so that my microsoft
word will recognize my having typed the document in spanish and maintain my
selection of spanish as my desired language for spell checking?

Each character within a document can have a different
language spellchecker if you wish (or not be spellchecked
at all). You need to do Edit Select All (Ctrl + a) Tools
Language, Set Language, Spanish, (at this point chosing
Default, and tick the Yes box will set your stadard spell
checker to Spanish). You have to do the same thing in the
header and Footer areas as these are separate. If you
record this process as macro you can apply it to old
documents.
