How to get Word 2003 spellcheck feature to ignore proper names/words (words
with a capital first letter) - such as: Smith, Limited, Pacific, Susan, etc.

I'm not sure why spell check would flag the names you listed, assuming that
the language for the text has been set to some flavor of English, but if it
still does, you can add the names to the custom dictionary.

I don't think there's a way to set Word to ignore initial caps, only ALL
caps. I would suggest recording a quick macro to set the language to No
Proofing and assign it to a keyboard shortcut, such Alt+L, which you can
quickly apply while typing the word you don't want to be checked. Then use
Ctrl+Spacebar to return the text to its regular language setting, and keep
typing. Hope that helps.
