Spell check still checks original text, though selected not to?

Under Tools/Options/Spelling, I have selected my Outlook to ignore the spell
checking for the original body text in replied to or forwarded messages, but
it still checks it anyway.
Can anyone help, as we get a lot of International email that is copied to
the world, so it takes forever and a day to send an email.

Thanks,
pdamon

If you're using the option to prefix a character to the beginning of a line
in the reply, the orginal text will always get checked.

I'm having this problem as well in Outlook 2003.
I'm not using the add prefix option, the ignore original text box is
checked, message format is HTML, and both use Word 2003 options are
unchecked. I can't find a fix, any ideas?

Thanks

We are having the same problem. Had it in Outlook 2002, and still in XP. It
doesn't matter whether we use the prefix or not - it still checks the entire
thing. The only time it doesn't is if it's an HTML message.

I've even tried removing the prefix character, even though we don't choose
that option. Still checks everything.
