Spell check of text in tables.

Word will not spell check the text within the tables of a template I have.
Under Tools > Options > Spelling the check spelling as you type option is
selected. If I create a new document (not based on the template) and insert a
table, Word will check the spelling as I type.

What am I missing?

Do you use special style(s) in the tables? In that case, the problem could be
that these style(s) have been defined with the setting Language > “Do not
check spelling and grammar†turned on.
