Spell check language opposite of required

I have a client that writes e-mail in Spanish and English. The spell check
function has worked fine, auto-detecting which language the e-mail was in.
However, this week the spell check chooses the English dictionary for Spanish
e-mail and the Spanish dictionary for English e-mail. I started a detect and
repair from the help menu, but I don't think that will do anything for this
issue. Any suggestions?
