Outlook 2003 Spellcheck German + English

R

Rolf

Hi,

I am running Outlook 2003 and have the Office 2003 Proofing Tools installed
as well. I have to write e-mails in English and in German every day and rely
heavily on the spell check feature (fast typing and good spelling don't go
together with me..haha).

So far I have to go:
.....Tools > Options > Spelling > International Dictionaries > Set language....
all the time and have to change that around several times a day. My company
requires us to use HTML as e-mail format, so I can not use Word as e-mail
editor.

Is there anything like a Macro out there where I could change language with
the push of one button instead of going through the options menu all the time?

Thanks so much for your help!

I assume the ability to set word as the editor is disabled in tools,
options, mail format? If not, it may be just that IT is clueless in this
area.

There was a time when word was awful as an editor and too many admins
remember that period and refuse to give the newer versions a chance, so they
block it by policy... it's greatly improved since that time. Ssince I
believe word's capabilities wrt language would save you a lot of time thus
making you more productive, it might be time to talk to the admins about
allowing you to try word as the editor. (I'm also assuming you have word
2003 installed as a suite - that is necessary to use word as the editor.)

Diane,

I really don't know. That's what I was told by our IT department. I am
just a regular Office user so I have to go what they set as rules...

Why can't you use Word as the editor? It does HTML and if properly
configured, the HTML is almost as clean as the HTML created by the
Outlook
editor.
