Hi Muttley,

The speech recognition settings can be found in the control panel, under
'Speech'. I believe you can also get to it via the 'Sounds and Audio
Devices' panel.

Hi Dante, Thanks but I've got that. What I'm looking for is a MS speech
recognition "engine" that is compatible with XP x 64.

Thanks Dante, Have read kb/306537 - does not apply to XP Prof x 64(the poor
relation!!). Live search cannot find your second link and redirects me to a
bunch of links relating to setup. I need to find a "64bit" speech recognition
engine similar to the one that comes as standard in the "32bit" XP.

Hi Dante, No didn't spot the "3.mspx" but did arrive at the same site through
a MS link. Tipical isn't it? I did a limited amount of research before
building a new computer just over two years ago. The sum of that was that 64
bit architecture was the futue and so built the computer to suit knowing that
in the short run there would be a few challenges like buying a new printer.
In my search over the last few days I came across a MS Vista site offering
the chance to check my computer to see if it is suitable for Vista(I know it
is) Guess what? their software for checking my computer does not recognise
64bit!!! No apologies neded. Please accept my sincere thanks for talking to
me. If you keep this open I'll let you know how I get on.
Regards Muttley.
