'Speech' Hints

Sometime my 'speech' or 'balloon' hints appear behind my system tray and
task bar. This means I cannot read the hints or see the date etc....

Please can you let me know if this can be fixed and also do you know why
this happens at all?

No it can't be fixed. It will fix itself. It will also reoccur. Show Desktop is believed to be the culpret.
