speaker test works fine audio not working

this is really weird. my speakers are working fine when i test them, but i
can't hear any sound when i listen to my music, music on myspace, utube, etc.
don't know what to do. help!

Click on the Speaker icon in the Notification Area of the Taskbar, click the
Mixer link, and while something (UTube, Media Player, etc.) is playing check to
see if anything is muted.
