Speaker problems

The computer I am working with had the partician cleaned (I hope I said that
correctly). Well after this the speakers are not working. It is showing to
have no audio system installed. I attempted to install new hardware with the
existing speakers and this did not work. So, I took another set of speakers
and tried that. This did not work either. It is still saying that it can not
locate any new hardware and it will not let me change the speaker settings
because there are no speackers to be chosen. Please Help!!!

If the speakers are connected to an add-in card on the PC, then go to the web
site of the add-in card's manufacturer and download and install the drivers for
it.

If the speakers are connected directly to the motherboard, then go to the PC
manufacturer's web site and download and install the sound card drivers.
