Spamming problem

Hello,

I have an open discussion board on my site and it is being attacked by
spammers. I delete the posts 4-5 times a day but I can't keep up. A friend
suggested I re-do my entire site using a blog program that will allow me to
control who/what posts are made to the board.
Apparently frontpage doesn't allow me to ban or control who posts messages.
Is this true? I do not want to make users register before they post. I just
want to be able to filter and read the posts. Is this possible? My site is on
a windows server.

Any suggestions?

Yes, FP doesn't have any control method to stop/reduce the spam.

But there are products around that can do this, as your friend suggested,
find a blog product that has a 'captcha' feature that requires the user to
input a code or series of characters - a required field, and something that
a spam bot can't get around. (not yet anyway) this captcha method requires a
real person to input the required field.

(Google for "captcha" to find out what its all about, and also for a blog
product that might suit you.).
