I use a program called Mailwasher.........it does not stop Spam it just
connects to your mailbox and downloads the headers.
You then decide what to download and open.you decide what to put on the
Blacklist and anybody on there you'll never hear from again. It also has the
ability to "bounce" spam...like you dont exist.
Do a google I'm sure you'll find it.
You should also check with your ISP to see what you can activate on their
end to reduce spam

I've used mcafee for a few years and don't have any problem with span or
viruses.

Not sure exactly what you are referring to (program wise or whatever), but
this might help you understand what is going on...

Word filters these days are almost useless... More pieces of SPAM that are
sent these days don't use ANY words in the body of the email. Almost all
are now images (pictures). Because of this, no amount of word filtration
will help, except if those words appear in the SUBJECT line.

If you are looking for proof, try highlighting a portion of the "text" in
any given piece of SPAM and see it works. I bet it will highlight an entire
section (the image), if not the entire body of the email...
