Spam filter problems

I'm using outlook 2003, and it's filtering people on my contact list.
There is a particular person who is in my contacts, on my email
whitelist, and is someone I email regularily. I have the check boxes
checked for "automatically add people I email and people in my contact
list to my whitelist". Then I have word filters, and when this person
sends a message with a bad word in it, they get filtered. How do I make
my exceptions list acutally work, so that this person NEVER gets
filtered even when they use a word that is filtered? Is this
possible...maybe in the next version of outlook?

That option doesn't exist in OL 2003. Instead, there's is an "Automatically
add people I e-mail to the Safe Senders List" option and a separate "Also
trust e-mail from my Contacts" option. If you see the word "whitelist"
anywhere, then you're dealing with a third-party program and not Outlook.
Then I have word filters,

Do you mean you have rules that filter mail? You certainly can't control
the Junk E-mail filter heuristics.

The Junk E-mail filter isn't filtering the message, you are with the rule
you have created. The Junk E-mail filter settings have no effect on rules.
If you don't want their messages filtered, don't use the rule or add an
exception tot he rule that will exclude that sender.

Ah, that was it...adding an exception within that real. Only now it
says there is not enough space on the server or the function is not
supported. So the safe senders list and the rules list don't seem to
mingle with each other well then. Maybe they should integrate that
more.
