space between columns

Real basic stuff:

I have column A with numbers that justify to the right and column B is text
that justifies to the left. In order to seperate them for readability I
usually then add a blank column in between, making the text column become
column C. Is there a more elegant way to put some space between the columns
so that I only use two columns, not three.

Thanks,

Don't add an unnecessary blank column; instead, select one of the column,
click Format/Cells on the Excel menu bar, click the Alignment tab, select
either Right (Indent) for the number column or Left (Indent) for the text
column from the Horizontal drop down box and then select 1 (maybe 2) from
the Indent field, then OK your way back to the worksheet. The indent will be
applied to every entry in that column.

Select Column B and Format>Cells>Alignment>Horizontal>Left Indent

Try 1 or 2 using the spin button and see what you like.

BTW............you can left-align numbers if you want.

They will still be numbers.

Thanks for the answers. That is exactly what I was hoping for. I use the
Alignment - Text control - Wrap text a lot but I never noticed the
Horizontal alignment settings. Very nice. I'm happy.
