Space.Bar.Malfunction?

I.am.not.sure.what.happened.,but.whenever.I.press.the.spacebar.,a.loud.error.beep.is.made.,the.pointer.resets.to.the.next.line,and.a.drop.down.window.from.the.upper.left.corner.of.the.screen.appears....This.happens.with.every.program.I.try.to.use...I.think.I.must.have.accidentally.typed.in.a.shortcut.or.something.that.changes.the.function.of.the.space.bar??I.cannot.fix.it--it's.very.frustrating!.....Any.suggestions.would.be.greatly.appreciated..Thanks

Elle, rt click on My Computer>select Properties>Hardware>Device
Manager>Keyboard>expand and see if there's a yellow mark next to it. If not
rt click and choose Uninstall. Restart and let WinXP reinstall it. If yes,
determine the make and
model and type USB or PS2 connection. Then go to the manufacturers website
and download and install the latest software
and drivers for the keyboard.
