Space Bar adding two spaces instead of one.

My wife is having problem when she writes a message in Outlook 2003.
Everytime she gets to the end of a sentence the space bar is adding two
spaces instead of one after the period. I know we can change them all after
the fact by doing a find and replace but I want to change it so that it only
types one space. Anybody?

My guess is that your wife has Outlook configured to use Word as the
new-mail editor. What happens if she uses the editor that is embedded
in Outlook rather than use Word? There are newsgroups to ask about
Word problems. She has her Word configured to add 2 spaces after a
period.
