Two spaces BEFORE Outlook 2007 signature...

When I make a signature in Outlook 2007, when I use that signature Outlook
places two spaces above it. I need for the signature to start on the FIRST
line of the email. How can I change this?

*Just to be clear* I am not having double space issues. It is just the two
"returns" that are inserted by Outlook above the signature that I want to
prevent.

Any ideas?

I had the same problem, but fixed it by deleting the signature and starting over with a "blank" signature.

The other thing you might try is to use the "Advanced Edit" to open the signature in Word. Once it's open in Word you can click View > HTML Source from the menu bar to view the underlying HTML source code. Here you can add/remove <br> & <p> codes which insert new breaks and paragraphs.

HTML signatures reside by default in C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Microsoft\Signatures.

Thank you so much for your reply. The blank signature does not work.
However, I figured out a way around this issue before receiving your reply.

For those who are interested... you can use a combination of Stationery and
signature to achieve a standard email without the two spaces before the
message begins.

First, open up MS Word and type the body of the email. Save as .htm in the
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Stationery folder. That way
you can set up this new file as your standard theme/stationary. When you set
up your signature to be applied to each email, in the end you end up with
what USED TO BE an easy template that works for all new email messages.
