Yes,
Go to
www.belarc.com , download the free utility that will give you an .html format
page for you to print. The important thing to use this for after you go to the
www.microsoft.com sight and do a Windows Update. Be sure to install all critical
security updates, and any others that you need to help with incompatibilities with
the OS (W2K). As soon as you have completed this, run the Belarc utility. It will
give you a complete list of all hardware, software, updates, the OS CD Key number,
and more. On the page, you will find a check mark or "X" if the update didn't take.
If any have an "X", click on the link next to it and redo that update. This will
insure you that you are up to date. Microsoft update will not tell you this.
You also need to have an AVP, and a firewall (hardware or software). Hardware
firewalls come with a Router ( example- Linksys
http://www.linksys.com/Products/product.asp?grid=34&scid=29&prid=561 ) or
www.spychecker.com (Zone Alarm) software. While at spychecker, you could look at
Adaware, and SpyBot S&D. And as a final recommendation learn all you can about
infections and how to stay safe.

On the other hand, if you have done the install over the
internet (express download), then that is it.
