SP4 kills task scheduler

R

Ron van Stenis

after applying Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 the task
scheduler fails to start returning an error "Error
0x80041311: Corruption was detected in the Task Scheduler
security database; the database has been reset."

Even when i delete all (1) tasks the service still won't
start..

Kb823441, reinstalling the service pack did not help.

Anyone an idea?

The same thing happened here. We have 250 lab computers, I
just applied SP4 on one of our lab testbed. I am getting
the same error as yours. Also tried uninstalled SP4, then
task scheduler will run without any problem. But
reinstalled the SP4 still gets the same error message.

I wish this reply will bring some attention to MS support
people and take a look.

I feel unsafe with so many lab computers running without
SP4.
