Q Article in how to remove IIS

Q325889 - HOW TO: Remove and Reinstall IIS 5.0 and 5.1
Can be accessed from http://support.microsoft.com
Might not need to do the Backup part if not running any
Web Pages etc.

Just check under Services, IIS service what Dependancies
are listed. Might have 3rd party application that rely on
IIS. Disable all Exchange Services before removing IIS -
Enable again after installing IIS

hope this helps

Is this a reply or a question? You can usually just stop the IISAdmin
service if the SP can't do it automatically. Sometimes you need to
reboot to be able to stop it - I don't know why.

I've never "uninstalled" IIS to install SP4.
