SP4 and speed

Your problem may not be the cable modem connection but
your network ... if you have one. We downloaded/installed
SP4 successfully but found Win2k Pro computers ran very
slowly.

If you have a network with at least two computers, try
running a backup from the SP4 machine to another. If it
is very slow ... as was ours ... the problem may be
networking rather than a cable modem one.

We uninstalled SP4 back to SP3 and are waiting for
Microsoft to fix this dreadful release before trying again.

I am having atrocious cable speed as well. All other
functions of the computer run just as fast as they always
have.

I disconnected my computer from my router, hooked it
straight to the modem, and had the same (bad) results.
What's odd is that some pages load (eventually), while
others just go on loading forever. Many with completly
blank screens that never time out to the "page not found"
kind of error..

I foolishly didn't save the sp3 "backup" files, so I can't
uninstall. Don't know what I'm going to do if nobody
figures out a fix or work-around. Any help would be MUCH
appreciated.
thanks...
